The Corrado needs lots of work. I am the second owner of this car, and it was not cared for at all by the original owner. It has seen just over 122,500 miles and it has much better days to come. It is in pretty bad condition right now. It needs body work, a paint job and other work. We are going to do a complete engine overhaul, paint job and tune it a little to get it on the road in show condition. We are going to put an Eaton supercharger off of a Mercedes SLK onto the engine, if it will work, replacing the worn G-Lader supercharger. If not, we are going to rebuild the G-Lader. I have a Sachs sport suspension kit which is going to be installed that will lower the car roughly 1". I will be installing european headlights, new euro fog and blinker lenses and side markers. I will be installing Ate Power Discs on it, along with new pads and calipers (most likely). I think I'm going to put Bridgestone Potenza RE730's [195/50-15] on it, when ready for the road hopefully this coming spring at this point. I have heard some good feedback regarding these tires...they seem like a good choice. I also plan on buying a Rieger grille and grille spoiler, neuspeed sway bars, strut tower brace, 16" wheels, new speakers, maybe a sub, and maybe even install a camera mount in the future.
Current updates of the project:
Dec. '00: removed front bumper, headlights, broken grille, rear emblems
Jan. '01: removed front radiator support, fenders, taillights
Feb. '01: removed all pieces in rear hatch, taped over holes for sanding purposes
April '01: removed rear bumper, side door moldings, roof moldings, hood, hood brackets
July '01: removed inner left panel which was glued in with the window when the previous owner had that left rear window replaced
Fall '04: removed engine!! also removed inner right rear panels to be able to get to the right rear fender to push out the damage
March '05: disassembled G-Lader - doesn't look good inside with spiral grooves all over the place where dirt was coming in contact with the seals while still rotating around.
March 26: Cleaned engine bay....before...
...and after about 4 hours of scrubbing...
more pictures of the project coming as I go along.
